Abstract:
The aim of each country must be to care for the development of its territory, but also for the development of citizens living there. The development of the territory as a whole is influenced by a number of aspects, which can include natural, human, financial, infrastructure, but also security aspects. Uneven development of individual aspects may result in regional disparities in the country, which cause uneven development of regions and decrease of competitiveness of regions, which may lead to lower living standards of inhabitants in less developed regions. The role of the state is to support the least developed regions and reduce regional disparities through the implementation of strategy documents and fulfilling action plans. The paper deals with the analysis of the development of selected regional disparities and the determination of the main factors of regional development. The aim of the paper is to set priorities and goals of development strategies of individual regions.
