Abstract:

In the power industry, both in the field of energy production and distribution, there is a growing problem with opening up to modern solutions and innovations in the ICT area. At the same time, the threat of cyber-attacks is steadily growing, becoming a major barrier to their spread. So, is this opening up even possible in the near future? Will power industry, as a particularly sensitive area, benefit from the opportunities offered by the fourth industrial revolution? This is a broader issue and concerns many sensitive areas, but it is especially magnified in energy generation and distribution fields. It affects almost all of them indirectly, as electricity is becoming the primary energy carrier in large agglomerations.
