Abstract:
Both patients and professionals are turning to healthcare blogs, podcasts, medical search engines or health social networks to share their opinions, side effects, medication and types of therapies. Trust plays a vital role on how the users create, share and retrieve information on health online and utilise the information for their own or recommend to others for specific health issues. Our research aims at designing a framework for dynamic recommendation system for dental care and this paper focuses on trust propagation while inferring trust in health social network environments. It highlights that a trust based model is critical to evaluate the information found online for users. Collective intelligence including social elements like social influence and situational variables plays important role to model the trust. This study forms a basis for our trust-based model for dynamic dental care recommendation systems.
