Prerequisites for Ethical Leadership in the Army of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

It can be noticed in the history of European culture that people deal with the ethics only at the moment when a significant violation of moral principles and rules begins to affect their own lives, when they themselves experience the consequences of a significant violation of the rules of anticipated behaviour. The distinguished Czech moral philosopher Erazim Kohak writes directly that the relationship of people to ethics is considered to be an indicator of the health of the society (1993, pp. 18 - 31). Similarly, the authors of the article believe that the relationship of professionals to ethical principles of the profession shows not only their own value pattern of professional behaviour, but also the health of the organization that associates them.
