Abstract:

An improvement project has been implemented in Leoni Cables and Components Entreprise (Romania) in order to increase the number of wiring fabricated daily using carousel mobile station. After an in-depth self-assessment and SWOT analysis, the problem was defined and addressed : the blocking posts of the carousel mobile station should be balanced. Pareto analysis was applied and improvement plans for each blocking post have been implemented, including setting-up dedicated tools to facilitate the operation mode. Finally, an increase of 28 wirings fabricated daily is reported, meaning a 15% increase.
