Professional Ethics and the Knowledge Society

Abstract:

The last decades of the past century were characterized by remarcable developments in the field of economic activity due to the globalization and internationalization of the companies worldwide. Economic phenomenon today shows a high degree of complexity for every field of activity. Moreover new concepts characterize different processes of the society. Knowledge, intellectual capital, intangible assets, ethics are key terms to characterize this new society in which we live in. This new trend takes into account the immaterial side of things, the processes and tries to respond to the well- known dilemma: limited resources, unlimited needs. For these actions not to affect the society, ethics provide rules for members to apply and follow in their daily activities.  Therefore, this article will try to capture all these elements mentioned above and find links between them and the implications they may have in various areas of human activity.
