Profitability Ratios and Market Price of Share of Selected Firms in Quoted Nigeria Agriculture and Agro-Allied Firms: After adoption of International Financial Reporting Standard

Abstract:

This study examined the connection between Return on Asset, Return on Equity and Return on Investment Ratios with Nigerian Agriculture and Agro-Allied Quoted firms Market Price of Share after the adoption of International Financial Reporting Standard from 2012 to 2016. This study used multiple regression analysis and the analysis is limited to the use of data taken from the selected firms’ financial statement from 2012 to 2016. The result shows that Return on Asset, Return on Equity and Return on Investment ratios are positively and significantly related to Nigerian Agriculture and Agro-Allied Quoted firms Market Price of Share. Also it was found that the Return on Asset ratio and Nigerian Agriculture and Agro-Allied Quoted firms Market Price of Share positively related separately. The Return on Equity ratio and Nigerian Agriculture and Agro-Allied Quoted firms Market Price of Share are also positively related separately. Finally the Return on Equity and Return on Investment Ratios with Nigerian Agriculture and Agro-Allied Quoted firms Market Share Price.
