Abstract:

The article presents the essence and the importance of IT project management computer program. The literature review has facilitated defining the term ‘project’ and providing characteristics of selected project management software. It was found that small enterprises usually do not apply such programs. An in-depth interview with the enterprise owner indicated that a failure to apply project management programs makes construction enterprise management difficult and, frequently, delays the project completion date. The last part of the paper discusses the project management process with an example of the forest road construction project executed earlier. It demonstrates how one can apply the software selected to support its execution and discusses the potential benefits resulting from it.
