Abstract:

 This study aims to contribute towards the development of a knowledge management maturity model and/or framework. The proposed Knowledge Management maturity model aims to describe the main elements of a Knowledge Management initiative and capture the stages of growth that an organization can be expected to pass through in developing Knowledge Management. There is as yet no universal agreement on the elements of a KM initiative and a generally accepted KM maturity model has yet to be established to capture the KM development process. A multi-case study on several organizations in Malaysia which are at different stages in the KM development process has been conducted and will provide empirical support for the development of the proposed Knowledge Management maturity model.
