Abstract:

This paper assesses the suitability of using infrared pyrometers during the Covid-19 pandemic to determine human body temperature.The advantages and disadvantages of using pyrometers were indicated. The classification of non-contact infrared measuring equipment, depending on the purpose or place of measurement, has been made.Equipment for measuring body temperature that uses the infrared phenomenon was tested. The comparative method was used to analyse whether a precise determination of human body temperature with this type of equipment is possible, and thus whether this measuring equipment fulfils its task in screening human body temperature during the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. The tests used equipment that was used by the National Fire Service during screening tests at border crossings.
