Qualitative Evaluation Of A Course In Business Ethics For Engineering Students

Abstract:

This paper shows how were managed the qualitative data gathered from the evaluation of an academic program in ethical use of managerial power for the training of engineering students. Evaluation was done through the use of semi-structured surveys and interviews; data were analysed with the help of qualitative software ATLAS.ti. Results showed that qualitative data help to understand complex social reality and allow researchers to gather useful information from participants. The main conclusion is that there are several software that can help researchers to manage big qualitative data, such as the one mentioned here. A final recommendation to overcome risks in the use of qualitative data is to mix them with quantitative data, which is known as triangulation.
