Abstract:
The aim of this study was to detach the evolutions of the macroeconomic variables that characterize the energy sector at the level of EU countries in the period 2014-2017. The statistical analysis performed in the study was based on secondary data provided by the Eurostat Database. The results of the study considered the combination of research methods and statistical techniques used for time series, in order to measure the existing interdependencies between the macroeconomic variables that characterize the energy system at European level. As macroeconomic variables were used in the study: the price of electricity according to the type of user, export, final energy consumption, gross domestic product. The panel-type analysis and model built in the study using the multifactorial regression and correlation method as well as the validity test were performed using the database management and analysis programs (Excel, EViews).
