Abstract:

The article presents an analysis of the forest fund of the Russian Federation. The characteristics of forest resources are presented, the territory of Russia is classified into forest zones, and accordingly, sparsely forested and heavily forested regions are identified. The analysis made it possible to determine the general and special features in the rational use of forest resources in various territories for more effective implementation and use of mechanisms for sustainable development by forests.
