Abstract:

Efficient and accessible healthcare is one of the main social responsibilities of any country. Medical information systems, benefiting from modern information telecommunication technologies, can become a backbone of strong healthcare system. A properly functioning medical information system provides the right information to the right people at the right time. In order to provide an efficient development and implementation of medical information system a great piece of process modeling work should be performed. The paper describes the example of process reengineering project of high-tech medical care delivery center, which is a part of the wider program of telemedicine system implementation. The paper focuses on the importance of considering process reengineering projects in the broader context of the enterprise architecture concept, as it will provide more synergetic effect for a particular project and the whole program.
