Abstract:
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system has been widely accepted as the most important cornerstone to gain competitive advantage for companies in the global marketplace. In the last two decades, ERP has been successfully introduced into Chinese Market. According to literature, Chinese enterprises have invested billions of dollars to implement ERP. However, the success rate of implementing ERP systems is extremely low and many enterprises did not achieve intended goals. To promote ERP implementation successfully in China, in this paper an attempt has been made to reflect on successful factors of ERP implementation in various Chinese enterprises. The study was based on the analysis of four cases that ERP systems were successfully implemented. The findings of this study not only confirmed previous research contributions on CSFs in ERP implementation issues, but also explored particular factors that played significant roles to implement ERP systems successfully in China. The contribution of this study could help Chinese enterprises implement ERP systems in a proper way. Meanwhile, it could also help ERP venders and ERP service providers promote their business further in Chinese Market.
