Abstract:

Development of tourist industry is one of the key directions of economic policy in Russia. In order to define the main development prospects of this industry in Russia the author conducted a regional analysis of the hotel infrastructure, as an inseparable part of tourism industry, for  the year 2016. The analysis was carried out based on the results of the algorithm, which was developed and applied by the author to rank federal subjects of Russia depending on the values of two coefficients: the level of room occupancy and level of room sufficiency in a region. A conclusion was made about the development potential of tourism industry depending on the state of the hotel infrastructure.
