Abstract:
This paper evaluates the regional differentiation of the level of agricultural competitiveness in Poland in terms of its potential (competitive capacity) and outcomes (competitive position). To this end, a taxonomic method – Hellwig’s development model – was used. The studies covered 16 voivodeships in Poland, and the study period was 2013-2015. The studies showed strong regional differentiation in Poland both in terms of competitive capacity and competitive position. The highest level of competitiveness with regard to the potential of agriculture was characteristic of Greater Poland voivodeship; however, in the case of outcomes of competition the Masovian voivodeship, characterized by a high level of social and economic development, was ranked first. Low level of competitiveness was typical of regions where structural problems occurred in agriculture.
