Geography studies have a great potential in motivating young people not only to travel but also to study the present-day dynamic world. The main objective of this article was to specify the level of geographical knowledge of Danish students about Slovakia. University students in Denmark (only Danish nationality students) were the subjects of this study. The research sample consisted of 156 students from two prestigious universities, the University of Copenhagen and Roskilde University. Based on analysis of Geography textbooks for primary and secondary schools in Denmark, by using a questionnaire survey we examined their basic geographical knowledge about Slovakia. The questionnaire consisted of 20 opened and closed questions in total. The core of questionnaire was focused on the knowledge of respondents about Slovakia, about visit Slovakia personally and their perception of Slovakia in the sense of the first thing coming to their mind when they hear the word “Slovakia”. Mathematical and statistical methods were used to evaluate the collected data. We examined the dependencies of the defined variables and the relationship between them.
