Relation between Informal Economy Share and Level of Social Unease: A Quantitative Case Study

Abstract:

The paper investigates the origin of 2011 social protesting wave by means of testing possible interrelation between social unease and informal economy. On the basis of quantitative analysis the existence of such relation it is proven, as well as the existence of a few other factors which influence outburst of social protesting. The paper investigates importance, role and influence of information accessibility on the outburst of social protesting. On the basis of both qualitative and quantitative analysis the paper proves that main reason for 2011 social protesting is the desire of relatively well-off population of the countries with increasing informal economy share.
