Religion and Education: Law and Practice in the USA

Abstract:

The article discusses topical issues of ensuring freedom of religion and the prevention of religious discrimination in the US education system.The article examines the constitutional provisions, legislation and the position of the presidential administrations on the interaction of religion, the state and the education system. The practice of the US Supreme Court on financing religious institutions of higher education, holding religious ceremonies and the use of religious symbols, academic freedom in the context of freedom of expression of religious beliefs, and activities of religious associations in the education system are analyzed.
