Research Competencies and Intentions of Future HR Professionals

Abstract:

The paper presents the results of an empirical analysis of the attitude of the training direction "Personnel Management" students to the importance of participation in research work while studying at the university for future professional self-realization. The author presented a model of research competencies of an HR manager in accordance with the labor market trends of 2020-2021. The study involved 133 students (n = 133) of the relevant field of study, enrolled in various undergraduate courses. The results showed a low level of student involvement in research ability, as well as a low level of motivation for this area of activity. At the same time, the respondents noted an understanding of the importance of developing research competencies for the effective achievement of the tasks of professional activity in the future. The authors demonstrate the difference in the key motives of the research activity of students who take and do not take part in it. In conclusion, it is noted that the results obtained in the work and the presented model of research competencies will form the basis for compiling a pool of tools for assessing and developing this cluster of competencies at the university when students are involved in research activities.
