Research on the Quality of the Romanian Consumption Wheat Harvested in 2017

Abstract:

Romania has significant natural resources favorable to wheat growth. Romanian farmers’ expertise, the use in the culture of efficient wheat varieties, the application of modern agricultural technologies, the tradition and specialization of the staff are important factors in obtaining high-performance crops. Although progress has been made, Romania has a level of wheat crop productivity under the European average, due to the adverse weather conditions, the lack of irrigation systems or surface fragmentation. The last 10 years have brought about a surplus balance in wheat foreign trade, historical records of the Romanian exports being reached. The research made has shown that the year 2017 has been characterized by a high level of quality of the wheat harvest, mainly due to the favorable climate conditions and cultivation of native wheat varieties, better adapted to the local conditions. Research can be helpful to the business environment, particularly to the local farmers who can adapt their production systems to the market requirements and to the specificity of the local growth conditions.
