Abstract:
The paper presents the enterprise as a cyber-physical system shaping the new reality related to the fourth industrial revolution. Discussing the concept and importance of Industry 4.0, along with describing its key elements, was an introduction to presenting the cyber-physical system as an intelligent structure. A model of the architecture of the cyber-physical system was presented in the form of a platform consisting of hardware and software components. The description of the intelligent system, consisting of three layers: physical, cybernetic and communication, served as an inspiration to develop our own concept of the architecture of this type of system. The next part of the paper presents the importance of identification and communication technologies between industrial objects, which are a key element of the modern digital industry. The paper discusses the research problem concerning the analysis of the use of modern digital technologies in Polish enterprises in the context of creating intelligent structures. The subject of the research were digital technologies currently used in Polish enterprises and their impact on the functioning of the organization. The aim was to obtain information on the type and level of resources and business solutions used in modern technologies. The results of the analysis allowed us to assess the extent to which Polish enterprises are prepared to build cyber-physical systems. Surveys show that the degree of use of modern digital technologies varies, and many companies do not fully use their potential or do not use them at all.
