Abstract:

This article examines the risk management in the Romanian academic environment from the assumption that a knowledge-based society, the university aims to contribute to the welfare of the individual and the socio-economic environment generating and transferring knowledge through education, research and innovation. The aim of the article is to respond to the main risks which still persist in Romanian academic environment and they include: risks related to socio-political and economic environment in Romania, managing the financial risk in the academia, the impact of Romanian higher education internationalization, management of quality assurance risk in higher education, responses to risk affecting the number of potential students and last but not least risk managementin terms of human resources.
