Abstract:
The acknowledgement of the negative effects generated by economic growth on the social environment has determined, in the last decades, deep behavioral changes at the level of companies. The modified attitude towards the natural environment and the acknowledgement of the benefits provided by the new personnel policies, focused on the respect, emancipation, and superior training of the employees, determined significant corrections of the companies’ development strategies.
Noticing the importance of recording a global performance of the company, as a support of its sustainable development, the present article aims to identify, analyze, and evaluate, at the level of Romanian economy, the connections established between the three dimensions specific to the mentioned principle (economic, social, and environmental). At the same time, it aims to draw a profile of the economic efficiency of the company, according to its involvement in social and environmental protection actions. In the research, the analysis includes, as an explanatory variable, the funding policy adopted by the economic entities. It is a determinant factor that motivates and facilitates a management strategy based on the integration of the three targeted segments.
The study uses financial and non-financial information corresponding to the 80 companies quoted in the Bucharest Stock Exchange, which compose the extracted sample. In order to meet the objectives of the research, the following have been used: the multiple correspondences factor analysis, the correlation analysis, and the multiple regression analysis with alternative variables (ANCOVA). The data has been processed using the SPSS.19 statistic software.
