Abstract:
Financial literacy comprises financial knowledge and financial skills necessary for theoretical and practical understanding of financial concepts and objects. Responsible financial consumption behaviour depicts person’s self‐control in spending, planning for the future, seeking information, education, rational decision‐ making and solvency. As surveys of financial literacy indicate worryingly low levels of financial skills and knowledge among young adults, the purpose of this paper is to investigate responsible consumption behaviour of young adults. Also, the paper investigates the influence of subjective norms, attitudes and perceived behavioural control on the responsible financial behaviour of young adults. The quantitative research was conducted on the sample of 500 young adults by PLS-SEM model proved the influence of attitudes, subjective norms and perceived behavioural control on responsible behaviour. Also, the results indicated moderate levels of responsible financial consumption behaviour of young adults.
