Abstract:

To better understand companies’ projects and the challenges they face, including the adoption of next-generation edge computing such as IoT, and the resulting impact on data center demand, 451 Research and interrogates more than 700 companies. Specifically, the decision makers within those companies who are responsible for choosing the computing and storage services of the company that employs them. All of the companies interviewed were colocation customers; neither was an IT, hosting or colocation service provider. The interviewees were employed by companies of various sizes, headquartered in the United States, Western Europe, China and India, and representing a wide range of verticals. The surveys were conducted online and by telephone.
