Review of Influence Factors to Enhance Knowledge Sharing through Online Community of Practices (CoPs) and Sustainable Competitive Advantage

Abstract:

Knowledge sharing has become key concern to organizations because many researchers in recent years have considered as a significant component for knowledge management system. At the same time, the growth of information technology regarded as both repository and collaborative tools within this area. In fact, the deployment of these technologies empowers the knowledge to organizations by providing the tools to support knowledge sharing activities. Unfortunately, the support of these tools alone does not promise to stimulate knowledge sharing and many organizations are facing with this problem. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to explore the influence factors to enhance knowledge sharing particularly through online CoPs. We propose a model of knowledge sharing through online CoPs. In addition, we conceptualize the relationship between knowledge sharing and organizational sustainable competitive advantage. Through literature review, we investigate the study of human behavior on what motivate and encourage them to knowledge sharing activities.Â
