Abstract:
Public interest in the field of risk analysis has expanded during the last years. Furthermore, the risk analysis emerged as an efficient and comprehensive procedure that complements the overall management of almost all aspects of our lives. Managers in very diverse types of organizations, with different missions, all incorporate risk analysis in their decision-making processes. This study provides an overview of the main factors to be taken into account when addressing a risk assessment process within an organization. It also provides a set of common mistakes identified by analyzing the way risk assessment is performed in different Romanian organizations. The results of the study consist in providing a set of good practices, derived as a consequence of analysis performed by the authors over the international best practices in the field, correlated with national regulations in force.
