Risks of Migration Crime under the Conditions of the Pandemic Crisis: Theoretical and Prognostic Study

Abstract:

The study defines the conceptual foundations of the migration crime risks, it also identifies the development trends of the phenomenon under study. The paper assesses the migration crime risks in the context of the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic COVID-19. The stated research is relevant and timely since there is a need to ensure an effective migration policy that is subject to the effects of the pandemic crisis. The purpose of this study is a theoretical insight of a new concept of “migration crime risks” as a necessary prerequisite for a prognostic study that identifies the development trends of the phenomenon under study in relation to the external factors. Based on the results of the study, the author defines  the concepts of “migration crime” and “ migration crime risks”; the factors affecting the development of migration crime are identified and  the most probable risks of migration crime are predicted in atypical conditions of a pandemic crisis.
