Abstract:

The Internet environment is increasingly used not only for its original purpose, i.e. for disseminating information and scientific cooperation, but also for entertainment, business and unfortunately also for supporting activities of organized crime. Public administration is being gradually computerized and information technology actively helps to improve and rationalize its activities. The requirement for information system security is just as important for it as its functionality, cost or sustainability. It is therefore necessary to explore and develop new, more effective methods and approaches to ensure the protection of public administration information systems against attackers, early detection and identification of attackers, etc. The aim of this article is to identify and describe the risks of using cloud computing by the institutions of public sector in the Czech Republic. The author of the article concludes that it is necessary to create a methodology to build a secure infrastructure based on cloud services, focused on the possibility of using public cloud for storing and processing data from the public sector.
