Abstract:
Developing countries attempt to accelerate their supply chain performance to simulate the success of the East Asian newly industrialized countries. Availability of resource, reduced labour cost and large population are advantages which can enable these countries to accelerate the economical growth and achieve industrial strength. Egypt is an example for developing countries that are trying to drive their industrial sectors to join global chain. Textile industry is one of the promising industries at this country due to its exportation rate, and being labour intensive one. Through this industry, Egypt can contribute in the global supply chains (Magder, 2005). Numbers of international investors are using its manufacturing units to provide tailored products to developed countries marketplaces.
The main objective of this paper is to investigate the challenges that face implementing successful supply chain in Egyptian textile industry. Two case studies have been discussed to end up with framework demonstrate their experienced deficiency.
