Role of the Banking System in the National Economic Stability

Abstract:

The paper shows the important role of the banking system in Romania for the national economic stability by analyzing three main directions: the influence of taxes, quality of services and strategies applied to the banking institutions. As a benchmark for the evaluation of the national banking system legislative rules and developments at European level are used. The banking system is the most sensitive national economy mechanism. On the one hand, the privatization and restructuring of the banking system and world economic instability on the other hand, led to a considerable increase in foreign capital in banking system assets (over 85%).
