Abstract:

Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) increasingly consider information as an important resource. The challenge consists in using all the integration techniques of the day – whether they are information, data, application systems or even business-process integration – to build an Information Technology platform that can meet the demands of real-time businesses. The research that this paper draws on aims to identify the challenges that Romanian SMEs will have to face in the context of EU integration and in the contemporary global business environment.
