Rural Sustainable Development Model with Environmental Economic Community Perspective

Abstract:

The conventional view of development which is only oriented to economic growth is no longer in line with the decreasing availability of non-renewable resources that requires sustainable development. Indonesia is one of the countries that applies the concept of sustainable development. One form of manifestation in Indonesia is in the village. This research aims to extend understanding how the behavior of the local community towards hygiene to support environmental sustainability and the sustainability of the household economics, including the identification of various factors related to sustainable development in accordance with the Presidential Decree Number 59 of 2017 and help make suggestions for village communities and the government to achieve sustainable development in the village. Modeling using system business dynamics began by using Pezzey's basic model of sustainable environmental economic. Then the model was developed in accordance with the results of mix methods that combine qualitative approaches, namely in-depth interviews and quantitative approaches, namely historical village data and literature studies. The model is then simulated and the results show that pollution will continue to increase every year which causes humans to become sick, but over time people will adapt especially to air and water pollution. However, soil pollution is different. Diseases from soil contamination caused by eating bananas take a long time so that the villagers do not care and continue to eat poor quality bananas. In that case, reduction of family waste and greening are needed to reduce the amount of pollution.
