Rural Tourism as a Strategy for Sustainable Development in the District of Pachacamac,

Abstract:

The main purpose of the research was to analyze the level of correlation between rural tourism and sustainable development in the tourist district of Pachacamac, after the COVID-19 pandemic. This research presents a quantitative approach of applied type and correlational scope developed with a non-experimental design. The sample comprised a total of 59 inhabitants of the district who work in rural tourism in the area. Two surveys with 27 items each were implemented to evaluate rural tourism and sustainable development. Both instruments were subjected to validation by expert judges and demonstrated very high reliability, evidenced by Cronbach's coefficients of 0.854 and 0.928, respectively. The findings revealed a statistically significant correlation (ρ = 0.813, p < 0.001) between the two study variables, indicating a positive relationship of very strong magnitude. In conclusion, it is inferred that the implementation of appropriate rural tourism strategies makes the development of the area sustainable.
