Abstract:
The practice of occupational safety and health (OSH) culture can prevent workers from getting injured in any activities carried out as well as improving factory productivity. In the processing of palm fruit oil, the factory use large machines with high risk, this can cause accident resulting in death, permanent disability and without disability. Such accidents can happen if there is negligence by the employer and the employee during the course of the operation of the machine. There are three objectives of this study. Firstly, to determine the factors contributed to the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) awareness program in Palm Oil Mill in Malaysia secondly was to identify the dominant factors contributed to the awareness program and finally to investigate whether the awareness program could reduce the accident. The scope of the study include Malaysian workers in Palm Oil Mill. The study were conducted using quantitative method. There were 63 sets of questionnaire distributed but only 56 were returned. The data obtained was analysed using the software Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The results showed that the behaviour factor contributed to the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) awareness program is very high and the objectives of this research were achieved.
