Safety and Security Criterion as the Primary of Future User-Supplier Relations (Research in Progress)

Abstract:

The starting point for current research is to verify the thesis that the future of online relations (especially commercial) will be based primarily on the security criterion. This may result from both the increasing level of users' awareness and the introduced regulations (i.e. Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2018 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing the 95/46/EC). Research conducted in 2018 on a group of 300 respondents in two age groups (18-27 and 28-40) and with different education status has tentatively shown that the vast majority of respondents use electronic devices that have access to the Internet on a daily basis, using the functions/services requiring connections to the Internet (91.3%). The respondents who also use this type of device every day, however, connect to the network only when they want to use a given service constitute 8.0% of all respondents. Respondents who use this type of electronic devices a few times a week constitute only 0.7% of the total.
