Abstract:
The paper concerns aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the banking sector. The special attention was focused on Santander Group as a benchmark for financial institutions and its environmental and social responsibility. According to the financial statement, Santander is one the biggest financial institution in the Europe and in World as well. The bank is evaluated by different of ESG indexes: Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), Vigeo Eiris (DJSJ), FTSE4Good Index Series, Bank Ecologisation Index (BEI) and Respect Index (RI) as well. The paper consists of five parts: introduction, Santander Group on the international financial market, green and social orientation of Santander, Santander in evaluation of ESG indexes and analysts and conclusions.
