Abstract:
In previous papers, the authors have shown that in order to find an optimal formula for Romania's
regionalization, multiple criteria need to be taken into consideration. Our current work focuses on analyzing an area whose importance was shown from the beginning of human history and which helped create civilizations and empires, the road infrastructure. When we analyze the structure of the road infrastructure using Onicescu's informational energy, taking into consideration both type and quality of the roads we find that Romanian regions are homogeneous. We conclude that this factor cannot be used in order to decide on the composition of the new regions, but the similarities between counties and regions can be used in order to cooperate and reach a higher level of development.
