Abstract:

This paper talks about Simple Assembly Line Balancing (SALB) problems. This paper presents a new test-bed for trying out general modeling and simulation algorithms of SALB problems using a new tool called SchedSIM. SchedSIM can solve a variety of problems in the research field of SALB; the uniqueness of SchedSIM – as shown in this paper through an application example – is that it is very easy to use, flexible enough incorporate other existing tools and libraries, easily extensible to in order to adapt to specific environment.
