Selected Issues of Family Business not only in the Conditions of the Slovak Republic

Abstract:

The business environment in Slovakia is being paid attention just for a relatively short period of time - since the change of the social establishment in 1989, which is connected with the emergence of the market economy. The Government of the Slovak Republic strives to create a favorable business environment with a special emphasis on family business. In the developed countries of Western Europe these types of businesses represent the most powerful engine of the economy, with many advantages. Appropriate use of marketing tools helps to promote this way of doing business. The intention of the authors is to map out selected aspects of family business in selected countries, using scientific methods of research, with particular emphasis on current conditions in the Slovak Republic. The issue of family business is part of the business law area, but it significantly transitions in the field of economics, management and marketing and therefore this paper can be considered as multidisciplinary examination of the issues. The concept and legislation of family business remain largely unfinished in the Slovak legal and economic environment even after many years of professional discussions.
