Abstract:
This paper tries to present the main areas in which Semantic Web technologies might be used in data mining applications. The purpose of the research is to underline the proper uses of Semantic Web technology for data mining and to identify the potential benefit for the global environment. We will focus on the advantages for data integration and data structuring with an accent in improving decision support. The research method is based on literature review, use cases and best practices and on experimental examples for some identified problems.
