Sensemaking from Enterprise Risk Management a Perspective- Mapping of Current Knowledge

Abstract:

Sensemaking is a relatively new organizational concept that gains visibility in the field of management. In management area, we can also observe very intensive development of risk management studies. Nowadays, some researchers suggest that risk management, especially in ERM context, is the key factor to create competitive advantages. The inclusion of sensemaking in risk management discourse is therefore a natural consequence of this process. The links between the two areas will be examined. The aim research question is: how changed a perspective of academic research in sensemaking in management science, especially in enterprise risk management context, over the past years and what are the leading research trends. It was use mapping knowledge domain, as a usefull method in bibliometrics. We analyze 6315 records from Scopus database to sensemaking in enterprise risk management context with the help of VOSviewer software tool. In particular, it was adopt keywords co-occurrence analysis to visually explore knowledge bases, topic distribution, research fronts and research trends in the field of sensemaking research in enterprise risk management context.
