Servitization: Journey from Goods to Services

Abstract:

Product can be fundamentally divided into goods and services, which are two essential sources of customer’s satisfaction. In fact, where the boundary between the two lies? Services are not anymore just a matter of tertiary and following sectors. Nowadays, they also growth into the secondary sector of an economy, which has been devoted to production of goods by its tradition. It is the industrial sector which faces fast-paced transition towards services these days. Nowadays, the services are enriching traditional physical-goods oriented businesses and changing their characteristics. The paper provides a literature review on this topic, the trend called Servitization.
