Abstract:
The paper presents indirect impacts of sharing economy platforms in tourism on functioning of cities as tourism destinations. The SALSA analytical framework (Search, AppraisaL, Synthesis and Analysis) as well as qualitative and quantitative content analysis of selected publications were applied in order to appoint areas of city functioning which are influenced by activity of sharing economy platforms. Five topics appeared to be the most commonly linked with the development of sharing economy in tourism. They are: entrepreneurship and innovativeness of citizens, real estate market, local transportation, citizens’ quality of life and local budgets’ incomes. As recognized the indirect impact includes both positive and negative consequences.
