Short-Term Evolution and Prospects of the Vegetable Market in the Context of Sustainable Regional Development

Abstract:

Fresh vegetables all-round the year have been widely available in most western European countries for many years now and in the past few years the availability and consumption of fresh vegetables all-round the year has increased due to multiple factors, whose influence has also been felt in Romania also. Under these circumstances it is of foremost importance to have a clear perception on the evolution of the Romanian domestic supply and to identify the prospects that contribute to the market referred and essentially to the sustainable regional development macro economically and to the increase of economic competitiveness of agricultural enterprises and even to the encouragement of agricultural entrepreneurship micro economically. The paper places the subject matter in a core position related to the importance of agriculture and the development of small farms who wish to market their products on the domestic market and intra-community.
