Simulation of Mechatronic Bar Operation Distorsions in Matlab Simulink Environment

Abstract:

This paper presents a way of modelling mechatronic cutting tool deformations by means of the Matlab Simulink software. The modelled tool was a boring bar with a system correcting elastic deformations arising during machining under the action of the cutting forces on the blade. Computer simulations based on an accurate model enable one to predict the behaviour of a designed device in its actual operating conditions already before its prototype is built. Models mapping the boring bar’s parameters (such as the tool geometry, the blade geometry and the characteristics of the electronic components), its control algorithm parameters and the cutting process parameters are presented.
