Abstract:
Skills mismatch is a serious problem in many countries around the world, reflecting differences in literacy and/or numeracy skills between countries. Furthermore, increasing technological pressures are expected to lead to obsolescence and loss of skills, which could result in massive job losses in many specific sectors. Topicality and importance of the skills mismatch phenomenon constitutes the motivation to undertake research. The main goal of the article is to better understand skills mismatches and their implications for human capital theories related to technological progress. This article aims to identify levels of skills mismatch and gaps for Poland, Lithuania and Germany, and to determine what level of digital skills are represented in the communities of these countries.
