Smart Society in Practice – Case Studies: Austria and Poland

Abstract:

The article is the result of a study conducted at the Warsaw School of Economics by a team consisting of Dr. Agnieszka Wójcik-Czerniawska, Krzysztof Witos, MA and the author of this article. The study focused on showing practical, in the opinion of the authors, examples of smart society at the level of creating smart economic communities. One of such examples is the creation of a self-sufficient region in Austria in Güssing in terms of energy and some foundations for building joint ventures in Poland in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship through the instrument of the Local Economic Organization (LOG).
